Notes from artists: Camille Utterback. ‘Arc Tangent’ – illuminated circle on floor with geometric patterns drawn onto the disc from detection of people gathering around it. Good to watch the different drawings displayed at different times. ‘Visual Resolve’ – a screen with icons covering it completely so it’s like stylised pixels. As people approach, their image is shown on the screen. Different icons, different images of people. Simple but effective, interesting art. ‘Text Rain’ – large screen with random letters falling down onto the surface of people images. Sometimes the letters form words & later turn into a poem. Really great to watch this.
ARS Electronica. High speed clip of demolition scenes (reversed) & construction scenes. Always good to watch these.
ART+COM. Jurassic exhibition - exhibition put on at Berlin Museum of Natural History. Good dinosaur animation & other interactive displays. 'Time scope' – Outdoor binocular towers that contain films of Berlin in the past. Where they point contains past scenes of the city at that particular place. Vattenfall media façade (2004) ‘The Gardens’ installation. Amazing display of virtual & real plants.
